Sunday, birthday Sunday

Sylvie attended two birthday parties this past Sunday. First was a party for her buddy Julia who is now one. I met her mom, Annika, at Joselyn’s baby shower back when all three of us were pregnant. Amazingly, we now have a 10 month-old, a 1 year-old, and a 13 month-old! We had a great time hanging out at their place and Sylvie enjoyed playing with Julia’s many cool toys (including a rocking horse that neighs!). Happy birthday, sweet girl!

After that, we headed over to Andrew’s place for a 10th birthday celebration for Mr. Grover. For those of you who don’t know Grover…well, he’s a cat. A very pampered and revered little celebrity of a cat. He even has his own blog. He drew quite a crowd of admirers, and was a bit intimidated by his own celebrity and spent most of his party hiding under a dresser. And then, just as he began to feel a bit courageous… in…came…Sylvie. Her newest word is “et” for cat, and she shrieked “et! et!” over and over again and maniacally scampered toward Grover and his toys as he cowered in fear. Luckily, she eventually tired of trying to touch him and play with his toys and went to flirt with the other party-goers instead. I hope the poor little guy has recovered by now. Happy birthday, Mr. Grover!
