Ladies Who Lunch, Part 2 (Now with gentlemen!)
March 22, 2010 at 9:46 pm
It’s Boston Restaurant Week (technically 2 weeks), and we couldn’t let this opportunity pass us by without exposing our budding gourmands to some of the delicacies our fair city has to offer. Well, really we moms just wanted some inexpensive 4-course fancy lunches! Friends Kate, Nancy, and Joselyn and I all headed out to the Elephant Walk French/Cambodian restaurant with our babes in tow. I was all for the idea, but had a moment of panic as I walked in and saw our table set up right in the front of the restaurant, complete with 4 highchairs. My mind started to race: What if all the babies melted down and threw their food? What if they asked us to leave?
Luckily, my fears proved unfounded. The babies entertained themselves with books and toys and swiped the occasional bits of food off of our plates. Sylvie tried (and loved) watercress and bean sprouts for the first time. She will basically eat anything as long as she sees me eating it first. It was a lovely lunch date. We had such a good time, in fact, that we have plans to go again this week. Hey, the next time it comes around we will all have TODDLERS, and I have a feeling it won’t go quite as smoothly, so we might as get it in now!

Kate enjoys her salad while Sadie gives the diners next to us an admonishing glare for talking too loudly
