Happy Birthday, Daddy!

We celebrated Jon’s birthday this weekend for the first time as a family of three. He’s turning 29 again. This year, instead of more objects to clutter our life, I decided to give him experiences. Turned out to be a lot harder to finagle this now that we have a baby – next year he’s getting stuff! We started Friday night by dropping him off for a beer date with his buddy Frank. He followed this up by sleeping in (for once) the next morning until 11:30 (!) When he got up, I made us a decadent brunch, and later we feasted on a birthday pie (he’s not much for cake). After a relaxing day together, we got to go on our first Boston date since Sylvie was born! My friend Katie came over and stayed with Sylvie after she went to bed. We went to Ten Tables in Cambridge and got the “trust the chef” tasting menu, which was utterly incredible! (Although we did find ourselves eating “squab” and had to look up what it was. I’ll let you do your own Googling if you’re curious. It was good, though!) We finished up with some ridiculously over-priced cocktails at a swanky hotel bar, and got home just before midnight. Fantastic. Happy birthday, my love!
