Fall fair fun

On October 8th, we headed to the Topsfield Fair with our friends Amanda and Jackson. Jon and I had pondered going, but were scared to brave the mayhem on the weekends, so I was excited when Amanda invited us along that Thursday. We enjoyed minimal crowds and an absolutely gorgeous fall day. We all had a blast and what had been planned to be a two-hour visit wound up being a whole day affair.

I have a secret to tell you...
...I like your socks!
Done using only sand, water, and sculpting tools. We watched it being made.
First carousel ride! Actually, it went so fast that she didn't sit on the horse until after it stopped, but she liked watching them go.
Jackson was mesmerized by the horse show...
...so was Sylvie...
...and afterwards they got to meet this guy up close and personal (and he was strangely mesmerized by THEM!).
Every time we entered a new animal barn, Sylvie let out squeals of excitement and she chattered away as we passed by each one. 
It's the great pumpkin, Charlie Brown! (1,400+ pounds!)
What's this taste? You've been holding out on me, mom!

Before you know it, she’ll be in a horse show, adding to your blue ribbon collection!
