Hanging with the Remicks

We spent a great Saturday with the Remick family. Early in the afternoon we all walked over to Wilson Farm, where there was a corn “fest” going on. We tried a few samples of corn recipes, watched a corn-shucking contest, and bought a bunch of fresh yummy ears for ourselves. Well, the grown-ups did that, [...]

Sylvie’s first concert

On Thursday we met up with our friends Sarah, Alex, Anna, and Sophie and enjoyed an outdoor concert put on by local musicians The Ben Rudnick band. Fun kids’ music and a great energy with lots of tie-dye and dancing everywhere. Sylvie was absolutely mesmerized by everything and she never fussed or made any sound [...]

Backyard beach day

With the temperature in the 80s and an adorable giraffe bathing suit threatening to soon be outgrown, I declared yesterday “baby pool party day.” Joselyn and Noah came over, and she had company in the form of her sister, Eloisa, and her friend Marysselis and her adorable daughter, Cailyn. First barrette

It hardly tamed the wild ‘do and it fell out after 5 minutes, but it looked cute for the photo shoot! And, contrary to what Andrew thinks, it was not “stapled on.”   By the way, when did my daughter become a redhead?

Beanie

Ilene (AKA Beanie) came to visit for the weekend on the 24th. We had a great weekend filled with lots of food and country drives. She brought a couple pictures of her charming rural schoolhouse, which she’s been hard at work renovating. It will be so much fun when Sylvie’s old enough to play out [...]

Baby party!

On the 23rd, we went to the Somerville New Moms group and met many lovely moms and babies. Unfortunately, Sylvie chose this exact time to have a big ol’ fuss-fest. Hopefully next time she’ll be in better spirits and more interested in meeting new friends.

Abraços, Nuno!

On the 19th, we spent the afternoon with Sonia, Nuno, and Asa. Nuno was getting ready to leave for L.A. the next morning to start his career in music production and engineering. Being away from Sonia is undoubtedly one of the hardest things he’s ever had to do, but we know he’ll find success and [...]

The rhinoceros wall is now full

Today we hung up Sylvie’s latest wall decor, designed by daddy.
